Biography
Marie-Elisabeth Gorge-Tesnière was born in Yvetot (France) on May 26, 1944.
She begins painting at the age of 14, while she is student close to Paris (1955-1960). At that time, she produces a model of decoration of theater.
She is student in Rouen (1960-61), then in Paris (1961-65), including 2 years at the Charpentier workshop.
She then moves to Le Havre (1965-66), then to Rennes (1966-68).

In 1969, she marries Olivier Gorge, they will have 3 children.

Between 1970 and 1989, ME Gorge ceases almost to paint, while her children are young. She makes many patchworks (and takes part in several exhibitions) as well as rag dolls (in particular for "Le Petit Faune"). She also writes books for newspapers.

In the years 1989-90 she starts painting again and takes part in several exhibitions:
- Independents Show (Rouen-1992) - exhibitions in Houppeville (1992), Mesnières (1996), Yvetot (AYAC show -1996), and at the Rollin gallery in Rouen (1997).
- In December 1993: exhibition in Djibouti, organized by the French Institute of Arts at the Sheraton hotel (see the poster opposite).
- In June 1994: part in the exhibition "Salon de Normandy" (state of New York - USA) organized by "NORMANDY REMEMBERED committee of Locust valley", for the 50th anniversary of the allied victory (sale of a painting of les Petites-Dalles...)
- In May 1999, November 2000 and November 2002: three private exhibitions in Paris.
- In October 2003: cover illustration for a book on the Indian Ocean (painting of Zanzibar - 199).
- In March-April 2005 : exhibition at Levallois.
- In April-May 2006 : "salon des Artistes de Neuilly".
- In March 2007: "Salon des Artistes de Neuilly".
- In May 2008: "Salon des Artistes de Neuilly".
- In April 2009: "Salon des Artistes de Neuilly".

Marie-Elisabeth Gorge likes with passion all the shores as well as the vegetation (especially tropical). With her husband, she keeps from the many places they visited the taste of travels and a great curiosity for our planet and its inhabitants.
